Were the Miami Heat Treated Unfairly?

After a very brutal game 5 which finally came to end after three flagrant fouls and a 32 point annihilation of the Pacers by the Heat. You would think the Heat would be all smiles after going up 3-2 in the series, but the league decided to rain harshly on their parade. The NBA league offices decided Thursday evening to suspend Dexter Pittman for three games (well deserved), and also they suspended Udonis Haslem for one game (slightly expected). The main problem residing in Heat fans is the fact that the Pacer's Tyler Hansbrough did not receive any suspensions for the flagrant foul that was the catalyst for the following fouls. The Heat can make due without Pittman who is, for lack of a better term, a bench warmer, but it will be very difficult for them to win game 6 without Haslem (especially with Bosh down). I would say the Heat fans out-roar for Hansbrough to be suspended is just because they are hurt that they are losing ANOTHER a key big man. Can you blame them? I would say the suspensions the NBA handed down were fair, what Pittman and Haslem did were not basketball plays. In the end Hansbrough did the best at disguising his ugly play, so he won with the league offices. If you have another opinion about the subject, comment and let me know what you think.

  1. psycho t made a play on the ball. he was reaching over d wade's body. haslem and pittman should've gotten flagrant 2's and I'm just being honest. I'm rooting for the heat, but those plays were extremely dirty and could've translated into career ending injuries. let's not forget what happened to rudy t back in his playing days. who knows? maybe this will give miami a mental boost with the fact that their players got suspended, but i expect to see pacers comeback with fury. otherwise they really aren't the team i thought they were. all talk and no cock.

  2. Your right for the most part. I would say Haslem's foul only deserved a flagrant 1, but I also see where Hansbrough's foul did not cause for suspension. He did make a dirty play by scraping Wades eye, but if you just examine his foul and don't look at the aftermath, I can see why the NBA league offices decided not to suspend him.

  3. In my opinion I believe that Miami is just something to hate on or make an example of when given the chance. The media and most of the United States are from what they call “small markets” last time I checked Miami wasn’t the biggest market for sports until James got there. To me the fans in those cities would have loved if Bosh, Wade or James came to their team, but they didn’t so now they hate them. I also think its racial driven because you have a man in James who had an historic season but still doesn’t get as much respect as Jeremy Lin or Tim Tebow. I don’t know if they are tired of seeing us dominate sports but it seems that way. If that the case they should just watch more hockey but they won’t do that either cause they hate to love us. I am a Celtics fan but I love what the players in Miami are doing to the game. It is forcing the other teams to actually try to win. I say that because for years we would watch a Melo in Denver and a Garnett in Minnesota and a Paul in New Orleans knowing that every season they weren’t going to win. There is a reason that the Lakers have been to half of the NBA 60 something championship games because they have been committed to winning and not just trying to fill the stands. James Bosh and Wade said to themselves that we aren’t just going to fill these stands and not win championships.

    1. Best PG in the game D. Williams but doesnt really get any attention because he doesnt have an attitude problem or any bad habbits to report on Sports Center so he doesnt get as much love as he should.

    2. Your somewhat right about how the big 3 in Miami are forcing teams and players to step up and improve their hands to win championships, but I also feel it is creating monopolies in the NBA. With the comment about Tebow and lin, I do see the slight racism in it, but I believe the Lin thing was mostly racism in a more positive way. The media praised him because he was an Asian making it in a league with not too many of his kind. I am not at all a fan of Jeremy Lin nor Tim Tebow's playing style, but i respect the reason why the media push their stories out. I have talked to many media outlets and asked why they overload us with Linsanity and Tim Tebow, and their number one response was ratings.

Also I would not give Deron Williams the crown when it comes to top NBA point guards, but I will say he will get a chance to prove it in these upcoming years depending on where he goes, or who joins him in Brooklyn. And that is again thanks to the big three of the Celtics and Heat that initiated the relocation of stars to win championships
